Note: Kids should have adult supervision if using knives to cut crusts and trim bread
This is great for kids to make for a picnic or tea party because they get to SQUISH something in the process.
Suggested fillings are salmon, cream cheese, thinly sliced cucumber, wasabi and arugula for adults and Nutella and sliced strawberries for kids. Or any combination of your favorite ingredients.
You'll need soft thick-sliced bread. "Texas Toast" bread will work, but the thicker the slice, the better.
Cut the crusts off, leaving as much bread as possible. Place the slice of bread with one corner in the center of the Kaleidoscope Butterfly (or Kaleidoscope Heart) mold. Center it over one section (slice) of the mold.
Be sure to press the bread into every part of the design, partiularly the butterfly (or heart). When it's completely squished into the design, pop it out and trim the edges with kitchen scissors or a knife.
Make your favorite sandwiches, arrange on a pretty plate and enjoy!
