Sandra Lira has been sculpting since early childhood. She’s known primarily for her figurative and equine works in bronze and resin and her work in the science fiction and fantasy genres.
Her most recent gallery shows were at the National Sculpture Society’s Park Avenue Atrium Gallery and the Society of Illustrators, both in Manhattan.
She has received a Chesley award for work which has also appeared in print in the book “The Chesley Awards for Science Fiction and Fantasy Art: A Retrospective”. Her work has also appeared in volumes 5, 8 and 9 of the annual “SPECTRUM – The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art”.
Her other interests include painting, small works in precious metals, 3D and stop-motion animation, Aikido and of course, making dessert.
